Will a Poem Be Born?

Will a Poem Be Born?

What we see
is merely a reflection
of our minds and hearts.

Poems are born when needs arise.
Otherwise we see what is.
and nothing more.

Rain can be rivulets of remorse
coursing down glass
or streaks of sorrow
blurring windowpanes
or a mysterious painting of a bleary landscape

Or rain can simply be water
and nothing more.

What do you see today?
